What we do
Magus is an engineering software company located in the heart of the Cape Winelands, dedicated to creating unique world-class antenna design software. Our core product - Antenna Magus - is used by design engineers around the world to design antennas for every imaginable application.
Who we are
The company was started in 2008 and has strong partnerships with leading Engineering simulation software developers and vendors such as CST AG (www.cst.com). In 2016 Magus became a subsidiary of Dassault Systemes (www.3ds.com).
As a team of skilled engineers and software developers we enjoy solving challenging problems in a relaxed working environment - a great place for young engineers and software developers to grow.
We aim to create a comfortable working environment that adjusts as the needs of the team change. Relationships are important - with regular social events, team-builds (and other fun things...).
We prioritize good source code architecture so that we can produce maintainable and extensible code. Our management is hands-on and technically focused. Every contribution is appreciated, and the whole Development team is involved in discussing, understanding and specifying product requirements following an inclusive agile process.
Our Hiring Process
We generally like to do the most sensible thing is each situation - so nothing is set in stone - but roughly our process is:
- A short phone/skype conversation to find out a little more about you.
- If things look interesting, we will arrange an informal face-to-face meeting. A manager and a Magus developer will explore both technical and 'softer' questions - the idea being to give us (and you) a chance to figure out what questions need to be asked to see if there is a good fit!
- The final, more formal interview aims to answer questions that may have come up in the informal chats and discuss details such as company policies and contracts.
A go/no-go decision will be made as soon as possible at any point in this process and we will try not to waste your time (or ours!)
